Bush to Create Formal Office To Shape U_S_ Image Abroad (washingtonpost_com).htm
The article is very vanilla. The implication that a news organization is involved in both planning a war and calculating how people will view that war can support some interesting conclusions.
This article correctly discusses how "mind control methods" are simply a more systematic application of basic rhetoric and religious indoctrination techniques.

Organized Crime - The Dumbing of Discourse Michael Woodiwiss Abstract The term 'organized crime' can be used in two very different senses. It can simply mean systematic and illegal activity for power or profit. Today, however, the term is usually used in a second sense, and has become virtually synonymous with gangsters in general or the 'Mafia' or mafia-type organisations, in particular. The implied or stated answer to the problem of organized crime understood in this sense involves increasing the law enforcement power of every individual nation state and, because these organisations are now known to operate globally, increasing the collective power of the internationally community. The threat posed by organized crime in other words must be met by nations committing more resources towards
SHAYLERGATE:British Press Gagged on Reporting MI6's £100,000 bin Laden PayoffBy Paul Joseph WatsonFrom: http://www.propagandamatrix.com/shayler_gate.html
Tony Blair has tonight ordered a D-Notice on British media reporting government officials signing court gag orders. This regards the case of former MI5 officer David Shayler, who has evidence to prove MI6 gave £100,000 to bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, arms to Iraq and had prior knowledge of several terrorist attacks on London in the 1990's.
The original articles stated that top Labour MP's had signed gag orders, whereby upon mention of this evidence in court, media have to immediately leave the trial. Newspapers all over the country, including the Guardian, the London Evening Standard and the Scotsman have either completely removed or amended their articles. This evidence is damning. The British government is trying to bury the story before it buries them.
Justice Department To Attempt Shut Down of 9/11 Evidence Fridayby Tom Flocco *July 11th, 2002
On June 20, Bush Administration officials quietly informed a New York judge of their intention to commence legal actions likely to be far-reaching in their constitutional, political, and individual rights implications pertaining to current lawsuits and government secrecy related to the attacks on September 11, 2001. The moves were revealed in a letter obtained from a confidential source, with two other sources corroborating its existence, adding additional information.
U.S. Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division Robert D. McCallum, Jr. and United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York James B. Comey advised U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein, also of the Southern District of New York, that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will intervene to control access to all evidence and documents related to all private litigation before Hellerstein’s court regarding the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 -- citing “grave national security concerns” as their motivation.
In a statement released Wednesday, Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman said the Ozark, Ala.-based 1st Battalion, 131st Armor "is equipped with modern battle tanks, the M1A1 Abrams" and "will serve in the homeland defense role within the United States."
Siegelman, commander-in-chief of the state's national guard, did not say what role the tank battalion would serve in homeland defense.
In addition to the tank battalion, 200 guardsmen from Special Forces units based in Auburn and Huntsville were activated and "will conduct post-mobilization training and then deploy to undisclosed locations in support of the war on terrorism," Siegelman said.
US planning to recruit one in 24 Americans as citizen spies By Ritt GoldsteinJuly 15 2002 The Bush Administration aims to recruit millions of United States citizens as domestic informants in a program likely to alarm civil liberties groups.
The Terrorism Information and Prevention System, or TIPS, means the US will have a higher percentage of citizen informants than the former East Germany through the infamous Stasi secret police. The program would use a minimum of 4 per cent of Americans to report "suspicious activity".
Civil liberties groups have already warned that, with the passage earlier this year of the Patriot Act, there is potential for abusive, large-scale investigations of US citizens.
Nearly 100 US Special Forces personnel were killed and about 200 injured and four Apache helicopter gunships were destroyed in the offensive at Paktia province in eastern Afghanistan, Russian online newspaper Strana.Ru reported quoting well-informed sources in the Kremlin, the seat of the Russian government here.
Though the objectives of the operation remained unclear, apparently US forces along with Afghan troops launched the offensive after coming under massive missile attack by Taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters Wednesday, the paper said.
During an operation in Shahi-Kot valley two weeks ago, US troops had combed nearly 50 caves but did not find any Taliban or Al-Qaeda fighters except bundles of radical Islamic and terrorist literature, maps and operation plans.

QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — A software company whose clients include the FBI was raided early Friday by Customs agents as part of a terrorist investigation. No arrests were made and the software supplied by the company was determined to be safe, government officials said.
The company, Ptech Inc., says its clients also include Naval air systems, the Air Force, NATO, the House of Representatives and the Energy Department.
Government experts who studied the software code for evidence it might do something other than advertised, such as allowing any insiders to read or steal sensitive data, determined it was safe, a U.S. official with knowledge of the investigation said.
Understanding Information Media in the Age of Neoliberalism: The Contributions of Herbert Schiller by Mark Hudson The ideology that has emerged at the end of the twentieth century to justify this unhappy state of affairs is neoliberalism. Neoliberalism can be defined as the belief that the unregulated free market is the essential precondition for the fair distribution of wealth and for political democracy. Thus, neoliberals oppose just about any policy or activity that might interfere with the untrammeled operation of market forces, whether it be higher taxes on the wealthy and corporations, better social welfare programs, stronger environmental regulations, or laws that make it easier for workers to organize and join labor unions. When confronted with the adverse consequences of their market-friendly policies, they usually respond by calling for patience, to give the poli

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- The United States should create an elite group of counter-terror operatives to make the war on terrorism pre-emptive and proactive, duping al Qaida into undertaking operations it is not prepared for and thereby exposing its personnel, a Pentagon report advocating more than $7 billion in new spending will recommend.
United Press International has exclusively obtained documents summarizing the report of the Defense Science Board, which will be publicly released in late October, after it has been presented to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
